Custom Laser Cutting Services
Laser cutting is a process that uses a high-speed laser to accurately and efficiently cut materials into custom shapes for a broad range of applications. Depending on your project needs the materials that can benefit from laser cutting include adhesives, cork, films, foam, acrylic, rubber, or several other materials. High-efficiency laser cutting services provide the ability to cut through or kiss cut intricate, complicated patterns, which makes them highly useful for smaller, more complex applications. Additionally, since lasers can move in any direction, they can make cuts that standard saws or stamping pressure cutters cannot.

Precision Custom Laser Cutting Advantages
Custom fabric laser cutting services can save you time and money over other cutting methods. Laser cutting technology enables us to cut complex shapes without the need for tooling and at a similar or faster speed than other cutting methods. Laser cutting also provides a way to cut small diameter holes with complex detail and good edge quality. Other benefits of precision laser cutting, include:
- Tight Tolerance Cuts – Our lasers can cut through complex, awkward patterns, a feat that would be difficult for any other type of cutting process to make.
- Flexibility – Our laser cutting machines can be continuously readjusted for quick runs, which makes them ideal for those that need quick turnaround times.
- Maintenance & Replacement Costs – A laser never needs to be sharpened or replaced, unlike a rotary die. A laser will also last much longer and require far less maintenance than any other type of cutting system.
- Simple Uploads – With our high precision die cutting services a drawing can be uploaded and cutting can begin right away. Those programs can also be saved and easily recalled for later use.

Laser Cutting vs Rotary Die Cutting
The differences between laser cutting and rotary die cutting is pretty much night and day. Rotary die cutting relies on many moving parts to make its prescribed cuts. The types of cuts that a rotary die can create include metal to metal, kiss cut, slit, perf, and score cuts. However, laser cutting can achieve these same cuts and many more through the utilization of laser technology, which has no moving parts. This results in less downtime and faster product turnarounds, without the hassle or worry of maintaining a bevy of moving parts.
Laser Cutting Services & Applications
Fabri-Tech’s custom die cutting services are ideal for creating parts and components for a bevy of industrial applications, including prototype parts. This process can be used to quickly and easily produce prototypes from your custom designs for fit and function assessment, and other product tests.
Laser cutting can also be used for larger production runs of the parts and products you need. Whether it is laser cut polycarbonate, laser cutting foam, or laser cutting neoprene, we have no minimum or maximum order quantities for any of our services. Our laser cutting services use a high precision laser machine to cut the materials for your product. We can use this process to create a wide variety of products, including:
- Die cut foam pieces
- Custom insulation
- Custom acrylic pieces
Custom Laser Cutting Process
Precision material laser cutting is accomplished by using the direct output of a high-powered optical laser. The laser optics and CNC (computer numerical control) are used to direct the material or the laser beam generated. A typical commercial laser for cutting materials involved a motion control system to follow a CNC or G-code of the pattern to be cut onto the material. The focused laser beam is directed at the material, which then either melts, burns, vaporizes, or is blown away by a jet of gas, leaving an edge with a high-quality surface finish.
In addition, Fabri-Tech’s CO2 laser cutters are fully programmable, which enables us to adjust all levels of our laser cutting system. We can then direct the machines to make the necessary cuts in the order that best suits the part or component being manufactured. These state-of-the-art laser cutting machines deliver superior precision and control and can be used on nearly any material we work with, including Nomex 410, acrylic, adhesives, films, and foams.
Short-Run Laser Cutting Prototype Services
Our custom die cutting services provide prototype parts quickly. Working from your product designs, we can quickly and easily program our laser cutting machines with the necessary information to create your prototype. This swift turnaround allows you to quickly check the parts for any changes that may be necessary, to keep your project moving along ahead of schedule.
If any changes do need to be made, Fabri-Tech can make another prototype with just a few simple adjustments to the previous programming. We can produce a new test product, and repeat the process as many times as is necessary. Thanks to the rapid prototyping capabilities of our laser cutting system, it’s possible to take your product from the first prototype to the final design in a matter of days.
In addition, all custom design information is kept strictly confidential. Fabri-Tech will never divulge your design data to any unauthorized third party.
